How Fit Is Your Productivity?

This week I’m back with a solo episode – just you and me – and we’re looking at one of my favourite topics: productivity fitness.

Think of productivity like a muscle. You wouldn’t expect to run a marathon without training…. the same goes for how you work.

Your productivity is made up of different “muscles” – things like prioritisation, boundaries, energy management, focus, planning, mindset… and when one is weak, you feel it. That’s when procrastination, overwhelm, or that “busy but stuck” feeling creeps in.

In this episode, I’ll share:

  • What productivity fitness actually means (and why it’s not about hustle culture đźš«)
  • How to spot when one of your productivity muscles needs strengthening
  • The small, consistent steps that build lasting results
  • A behind-the-scenes look at The Productivity Gym – my membership where we work on this together

💡 Plus, I’ve created something brand new for you…
The Mini Productivity Fitness Test. It’s free, quick, and helps you figure out which productivity muscle needs attention right now. Think of it as your warm-up before the full Productivity Fitness Test inside the Gym.

👉 Take the test here: zestproductivity.com/mini

If you’ve ever wondered why your productivity feels harder than it should, or you’re craving less chaos and more clarity, this is your starting point.

Here’s a question for you: how fit is your productivity right now?

Stay with me—I’m not talking about lunges and burpees (no judgement if you love them, though). I’m talking about productivity fitness—a concept I’m ridiculously passionate about, and one I believe can completely change the way you work and live.

Today I want to break down what productivity fitness actually means, why it matters, and how you can start building yours—without falling into hustle culture traps or forcing yourself into a routine that doesn’t suit you.

What is Productivity Fitness?

Think about physical fitness for a moment. If you wanted to run a marathon, you wouldn’t just wake up one morning and expect to smash it without training. You’d build up slowly, strengthen the right muscles, and check in on your progress along the way.

Productivity is exactly the same. It’s made up of different “muscles,” like:

  • Prioritisation – knowing what really matters most.

  • Boundaries – saying no and protecting your time.

  • Energy management – working with your natural rhythms, not against them.

  • Focus & planning – keeping your eye on the ball and setting yourself up for success.

  • Mindset – shifting the stories you tell yourself about how you “should” work.

And here’s the truth: when one of these muscles is weak, you’ll feel it. Maybe it shows up as procrastination. Maybe you’re constantly overwhelmed. Or maybe you’re busy all day long but never really moving forward.

The good news? Just like in the gym, you can train those muscles—bit by bit, one rep at a time.

Why It Matters

I’ve built my life and business around my family. With two football-mad kids, a husband who works shifts, and a busy household, my working hours are limited. I have to be productive in the time I have. But I refuse to buy into hustle culture.

For me, productivity is not about squeezing in more, copying someone else’s rigid routine, or waking up at 5am (that will never be me). It’s about designing ways of working that fit your life, your brain, and your energy—so you can make progress without burning out.

That’s why productivity fitness matters. It’s about building strength in the areas that help you cut through the noise, ditch the chaos, and focus on what’s truly important.

The Productivity Gym

This is exactly why I created The Productivity Gym. It’s my membership space where we work on those productivity muscles together.

Inside, members get:

  • The Productivity Fitness Test – to see where you’re strong and where to focus.

  • Live group coaching sessions.

  • Practical workshops.

  • Resources and action kits to help you build consistency.

And just like a real gym, it’s not about doing one marathon session and disappearing for months. It’s about showing up regularly, practicing, and getting stronger over time.

I recently had a member retake her full fitness test after just a few months. Every single area had improved. She’d gone from feeling scattered to setting a target of £5k months in her business—and she’s been banking over £7k. One rep at a time, she’s transformed how she works and how she feels.

Where To Start: The Mini Productivity Fitness Test

If you’re wondering, “Okay Jasmine, but where do I even start?”—I’ve got you.

I’ve created a Mini Productivity Fitness Test. It’s quick, it’s free, and it gives you instant insight into which productivity muscle might need the most attention right now. Think of it as a warm-up before the full test inside The Productivity Gym.

👉 Take the test here: zestproductivity.com/mini

In just a few minutes you’ll get your results plus a simple next step you can action straight away.

Final Word

Productivity fitness is about treating your ability to get the important stuff done as a muscle you can train—because you really can. And when you do, everything feels lighter.

So, are you ready to find out how fit your productivity really is? Take the mini test today and see where you stand.

And if you’re curious about joining us in The Productivity Gym, the doors will be opening again soon. Pop yourself on the waitlist here and I’ll make sure you’re the first to know.

33 | How Fit Is Your Productivity? Take the Mini Fitness Test & Find Out

Hey Today’s episode is a little bit different. It’s just you and me, a solo one like we used to have in season one. And today I’m gonna share something that I am ridiculously passionate about. And that is productivity fitness.

I’m gonna explain what it is, why it matters, and how it can completely change the way you work and live. I’ve got something exciting to share about the Productivity Gym and some bonus podcast goodies coming your way. So stick around.

This one is short, sharp, and hopefully it gives you that little nudge of motivation that you need today. So if you’re new to the podcast, hi, I’m Jasmine, Jasmine Clark, a productivity strategist and senior accredited executive coach. My whole ethos is about helping busy professionals and business owners cut through that noise, that chaos, and focus on what really matters without burning out in the process.

In my personal life, I am married to the lovely Simon who is a train driver, and I have two kids, rose, who is nearly 11, and Jamie is eight. It is a busy life, a busy household. Both my children are massively into football in particular, and every single evening, pretty much we are transporting them to football training or taking them to matches,

we’ve committed to their football journeys, but this means that I have to be really productive in the time that I have to work because. I have to fit my work around my husband’s schedule, his shifts, and the children because they’re the priorities in my life. My work is a priority. I am a priority, but I just need to make sure that I am productive in the winters that I have because I absolutely hate hustle culture I completely believe that productivity is not about cramming more into your day or living by someone else’s rigid system. I will never, ever, well, I highly doubt I will ever become a 5:00 AM get up person. It’s just not who I am. Productivity is about designing ways of working that fit you, your brain, your energy, your life, your football obsessed kids.

And that’s where this idea of productivity fitness comes in. So what do I mean when I talk about fitness for your productivity muscles? I’d like you to think about physical fitness for a second. If you wanted to run a marathon,

you wouldn’t just wake up one morning and expect to do it without any training. You’d build it up slowly. Strengthen the muscles that you needed and keep checking your progress. I think that productivity is the same. It’s made up of different muscles. Things like prioritization, about knowing what matters most about your boundaries.

As you say, no, and you need to energy management working with your rhythms, not against them. Focus planning mindset, the list goes on, but when one of these areas, one of these muscles is weak, you’ll feel it. Maybe it’ll show up as procrastination. Maybe it’s constant overwhelm. Maybe it’s been busy, but never feeling like you’re moving forward.

The good news is you can train those muscles bit by bit one rep at a time, and when you do, everything gets lighter. This is exactly why I created the Productivity Gym. It is my membership space where we work on those productivity muscles together. Members get access to the productivity fitness test, which helps you see where you’re strong and where you might want to focus.

Plus, we have live group coaching sessions, practical workshops, and a whole bunch of resources to help you build consistency. And just like a real gym, it is not about doing everything perfectly. It’s not about coming once for a marathon gym session and then not coming back for weeks and months. It’s about showing up, practicing, and getting stronger over time.

So if you’ve been feeling like your productivity needs to tune up, or you’re sick of running on the hamster wheel of busy, but not moving forward, then honestly this is the place for you. Now, if you’re already inside the productivity gym, you’ll know that this podcast is just the tip of the iceberg.

Every other week, I drop exclusive solo episodes into our private members only podcast called mozet. These episodes deep dive into specific productivity challenges and give you coaching style guidance that you can action straight away. I also produce a Zest in Action application kit for every podcast episode

so you can pick and choose the episodes that stand out and then reflect deeper on the ones that really resonate with you, so that you can apply an action straight away. Over the next few weeks on this podcast, I’m going to be releasing some extra episodes on here, including some sneak peeks of Mozet, my private podcast for members.

So if you’re curious about what goes on behind those doors, make sure you are subscribed to this podcast and keep an eye out for those specials. And before I go, I have got something brand new for you. So if you’ve been listening and thinking. Okay, Jasmine, but where do I even start with my productivity fitness?

I’ve created a mini productivity fitness test just for you. It’s quick, it’s free, and it helps you spot which of your productivity muscles might need the most attention. Right now, think of it as a little warmup before diving into the full productivity fitness test we use inside the gym. All you need to do is click the link in the show notes.

I’ll head to zest productivity.com/mini. That’s MINI zest productivity.com/mini. Answer a handful of questions and you’ll get instant feedback, plus a simple next step to help you start building strength in that area straightaway.

Give it a try. Zest productivity.com/mini. So to wrap this up. Productivity fitness is about treating your ability to get the important stuff done, like a muscle that you can train ’cause you really can. And the productivity gym is where we do that work together. I have just heard from one of our lovely members who took our full productivity fitness test back in May when she joined, and she’s just retaken it now at the end of August and her scores are utterly unbelievable.

Every single one of the areas has increased. She cannot believe the changes. Her income has increased. She’s set a target of banking 5,000 pounds of business a month, and she’s been banking over seven. She feels so much better and more in control.

She’s been working on her fitness, one little rep at a time. Not a massive overhaul, but it has produced incredible results. If you’d like to join us when the door’s next open and head to zest productivity.com/tpg and I’ll pop a link in the show notes and you can get on the wait list. But if you’re not quite ready, stick around here and these bonus episodes will be coming your way very, very soon.
